Origanum majorana L.

Effects and Use:

Internally, marjoram tea is used for bloating, cramps, poor digestion, and to stimulate appetite. Its effects are mainly attributed to its essential oil. The antibacterial and antiviral actions are supported by rosmarinic acid and arbutin. Externally, marjoram ointment is widely used in folk medicine, especially for infants with digestive issues — applied by gently massaging the navel area.

Tea Preparation:

Pour 200 ml boiling water over 1–2 teaspoons of the herb. Steep covered for 5–10 minutes, strain.

Drink 1–2 cups daily.
